What are the main uses and transportation methods of LNG ?

The process system of LNG Plant includes:

1) As a clean fuel that is vaporized and used by urban residents, it has the characteristics of safety, convenience, speed, and low pollution.

2) Used as alternative car fuel. By using LNG as the fuel for automotive engines, the engine only needs to be modified appropriately. It is not only safe and reliable to operate, but also has low noise and low pollution. Especially in today’s increasingly strict emission regulations, vehicles fueled with LNG have significantly improved exhaust emissions. According to data reports, compared with compressed natural gas (CNG), LNG vehicles have a 20% lower fuel cost and a 2/3 lighter weight for medium to heavy-duty vehicles under the same travel and operating time conditions. At the same time, the cost of fuel supply system devices is also at least 2/3 lower. It can be proven that liquefying natural gas and storing it in liquid form is the most cost-effective method to promote its application in transporting fuels.

3) As a cold source, it is used for the production of fast cooling food, as well as low-temperature crushing of plastics and rubber, and can also be used for seawater desalination and cable cooling.

4) As an industrial gas fuel, it is used in industries such as glass shell factories and process glass factories.

he main modes of transportation for LNG include ships, trains, and tank cars. Within the economic transportation radius of 500-800 kilometers, using tank cars to transport LNG is an ideal method. The tank body of the tank car adopts double wall vacuum powder without insulation, equipped with an operating valve safety system and infusion hoses. The manufacturing technology of low-temperature liquid tank cars in China is relatively mature, and tank cars are safe to use. LNG products are stored in cryogenic liquid storage tanks with double wall vacuum powder insulation. The daily evaporation rate of LNG can be controlled within 0.46%, and the storage period is 4-7 days.

 

Among all clean fuels, natural gas is considered the most suitable alternative fuel for automobiles by many countries and experts worldwide due to its mature application technology, safety, reliability, and economic feasibility. Cars use natural gas as a power fuel, and compared to gasoline, their exhaust emissions reduce HC by 72%, NOx by 39%, CO by 90%, and SOx and Pb to zero. Reduce noise by 40%. Therefore, promoting the use of natural gas fuel will play a positive role in reducing air pollution and improving the environment.

Why is it said that using natural gas as fuel in cars can significantly improve economic benefits? Answer: Save a lot of fuel. Saving fuel costs: As a car fuel, natural gas is equivalent to approximately 1.1 liters of gasoline or 1 liter of diesel per cubic meter, while the price of 1 cubic meter of natural gas is only 1/3-2/3 of that of 1 liter of gasoline.
