What are the outstanding advantages of LNG vehicles compared to CNG vehicles?

(1) Briefly describe the process of LNG vehicle filling and gas supply.

Answer: Liquid filling: LNG flows from the filling port to the top of the storage tank through a one-way valve. The gas inside the tank is condensed, and the pressure drops. When it is filled to the rated liquid level, it automatically stops;

Gas supply: When the engine starts, the solenoid valve opens, and LNG flows out under the pressure inside the tank, enters the vaporizer for heat exchange and gasification, and is supplied to the engine.

(2) What are the outstanding advantages of LNG vehicles compared to CNG vehicles?

Answer: LNG has a high energy density (about three times that of CNG), a long driving range of over 400km, and is more energy-efficient with fewer emissions.

(3) What are the advantages of LNG vehicles compared to diesel vehicles?

A.  Economy. 1m3 LNG is equivalent to 625N m3 of natural gas. The operation of diesel vehicles with the same horsepower shows that 1m3 of natural gas is equivalent to 1 liter of 0 # diesel, and the price of 1m3 of natural gas is about 5.2 yuan for gasoline, which is 70% of the price of 1 liter of 0 # diesel (7.24 yuan). This means that switching to natural gas for diesel vehicles with the same horsepower can save 30% of the cost. The annual operating mileage is calculated based on 70000 kilometers (fuel consumption per 100 kilometers is calculated based on 50 liters of diesel or 50m3 of natural gas), which can save 71000 yuan in fuel costs.

B.  Good safety performance. LNG has a ignition point of 650 ℃, higher than diesel and gasoline, and is more difficult to ignite than gasoline and diesel. The explosion limit of LNG is 5% -15%, and the density after gasification is only half that of air, so as long as there is a leak, it will immediately evaporate and diffuse. LNG storage pressure is low (0.3-0.7MPa), making it safer than CNG.

C.  Environmental protection. Due to its pure composition and low impurities, LNG vehicles emit less harmful gases such as SO2, NOX, and CO2, which is beneficial for environmental protection.

D.  Reliable. LNG has good low-temperature startup performance and can save more fuel during low temperature seasons. LNG has a high energy density, and large LNG trucks can continuously travel 800 to 1000 kilometers with one refueling, which can meet long-distance transportation needs. The LNG gas source is sufficient and can be transported over long distances using dedicated tank trucks, without being restricted by natural gas pipelines.

E.   LNG vehicle modification. The octane number of natural gas is as high as 130, and its anti knock performance is good. After car modification, the engine life can be extended by more than 2 times, and the corresponding maintenance costs can be reduced by more than 50%. The current domestic modification technology is mature, and the investment is generally recovered within six months after the modification. The modification of LNG vehicles can be achieved through two ways: one is to rebuild the existing diesel engine into a natural gas engine and install an LNG gas supply system; The second is to purchase LNG vehicles directly. The engine has been transformed by a professional company, transforming the original car engine into a single fuel engine. After the transformation, the engine can reach the technical level of a new engine, with a lifespan of 500,000 kilometers.
