Process technology proposal and description of natural gas hydrogen production plant (2)
3) CO conversion: After the conversion gas recovers heat through the waste heat boiler, the temperature drops to about 360°C and enters the medium-temperature conversion furnace. Under the action of the iron-based catalyst, carbon monoxide reacts with water vapor to produce carbon dioxide and hydrogen. The main reactions are as follows:
CO+H2O→CO2 +H2 +Q
The CO conversion reaction is an exothermic reaction. Low temperature is beneficial to the conversion balance, which can obtain a higher CO conversion rate, thereby increasing the hydrogen production per unit of raw material. In order to simplify the process and save investment, natural gas conversion to hydrogen usually only uses one-stage conversion.

4) Principle of hydrogen extraction by PSA pressure swing adsorption: Adsorption refers to the phenomenon and process that when two substances with different phases come into contact, the molecules of the substance with lower density are enriched on the surface of the substance with higher density. The substance with adsorption effect (generally a porous solid with relatively large density) is called an adsorbent, and the adsorbed substance (generally a gas with relatively small density) is called an adsorbate. It has two properties: one is that the adsorption capacity for different components is different, and the other is that the adsorption capacity of the adsorbate on the adsorbent increases with the increase of the partial pressure of the adsorbate and decreases with the increase of the adsorption temperature. By utilizing the first property of the adsorbent, the purpose of hydrogen purification can be achieved by preferentially adsorbing the impurity components in the hydrogen-containing gas source; by utilizing the second property of the adsorbent, the adsorbent can be adsorbed at low temperature and high pressure and desorbed and regenerated at high temperature and low pressure, thereby forming an adsorption and regeneration cycle of the adsorbent to achieve the purpose of continuous hydrogen. extraction
The relationship between adsorption amount, pressure and temperature of PSA pressure swing adsorption
From the Langmuir adsorption isotherm equation, we know that at a certain temperature, the desorption of the adsorbed component needs to be completed by reducing its partial pressure. Commonly used desorption methods include atmospheric pressure analysis and vacuum analysis, both of which aim to reduce the partial pressure of the adsorbed component on the adsorbent.
